SensAlpin GmbH was founded by Martin Zimmerli in 2003 as a one-man company. Martin was able to benefit from the vast experience of Hansueli Gubler (AlpuG GmbH), the pioneer and developer of automatic avalanche alarms and IMIS stations. After years of close cooperation, SensAlpin took over various systems from Hansueli's company.

Since the foundation of the company, SensAlpin GmbH has been active in the planning, design and construction of autonomous measuring systems. Due to Martin's previous work at the WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF Davos, one of the main focuses of the company's activities is dealing with alpine natural hazards.

In a wide variety of projects throughout the European Alps, but also on other continents, the autonomous measuring systems have proved their worth under demanding environmental conditions. No series products can be expected from SensAlpin GmbH. However, we are happy to design optimal measurement solutions for individual requirements quickly and flexibly.

Although a small company, SensAlpin GmbH can guarantee the necessary skills and resources for the planning, implementation and follow-up of a project. In addition to the company founder, SensAlpin now employs four further members of staff. SensAlpin also works closely with a network of highly specialized Swiss partner companies.

SensAlpin GmbH is based in Davos, the highest town in the European Alps.
